29th Anniversary Celebration
The children and staff celebrated the 29th anniversary of DEWS Sweet Home in August. They enjoyed sharing their testimonies, singing, and praising God for the miracles in their lives. A special cake-cutting ceremony was led by founder Mrs. Lilly Florence Kaligithi. She shared a short story about how the children’s home started and the significant impact ICC and sponsors have made in the lives of the children.
Perimeter Wall Construction
In November, a small prayer session was held to uplift the construction of a perimeter wall designed to ensure safety for the children. Thank you to Mr. Russ Wilkinson and his team for sponsoring this project!
Special Work Program
The children participated in a special work program where they showed a keen interest in planting as part of their lifestyle.
Christmas Celebration
Christmas at DEWS Sweet Home was a beautiful homecoming where the past and present united. The celebration was made even more meaningful as alumni returned to the children’s village to share in the joy and mentor the younger generation. The day was filled with powerful prayers and moving testimonies of how the home has shaped lives over the years. The excitement peaked when the gifts arrived, which brought radiant smiles to every child’s face. The festivities concluded with a grand dinner, where the entire extended family, past and present, sat together to feast and celebrate the spirit of Christmas.
Baptisms
On the final sabbath of 2025, the DEWS Sweet Home children and staff celebrated a momentous occasion as several children dedicated their lives to God through baptism. The ceremony was made even more special by the presence of international speaker Pastor Jesin, who officiated the baptisms and offered an inspiring message to the candidates.
As these young individuals begin their new lives in faith, we are reminded of the promise in 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” We invite our community to join us in praying for them as they walk this blessed path.
Trip to The Pool
During Christmas vacation, alumni and current students joined together for a trip to the pool. It was a wonderful break from the school routine, as everyone relaxed and had fun. After a long day in the water, the kids enjoyed some snacks before heading home.
Bringing In 2026
The children and staff celebrated the arrival of the new year with a heartfelt gathering. Pr. CMJ Suvarna Raj, former college President, and Mrs. Lilly Kaligithi, the founder of DEWS Sweet Home, paid a visit to the campus. The day began with a special prayer meeting to offer thanks to God and express deep gratitude to ICC and sponsors for their unwavering support. The celebration concluded with a wonderful lunch, marking a blessed start to the year for everyone involved.
Ordination Of Former Sweet Home Child
On March 7th, 2026, Mr. Rao, Susan, and Udai attended Pr. Methuselah’s pastoral ordination. Pr. Methuselah Sakalabathula joined Sweet Home in 2004, completing his education from 2nd to 12th grade at Flaiz under the guidance of ICC.
He now serves in the esteemed position of Circle Pastor and remains deeply grateful to ICC and all his sponsors for their continued love and support.
With seven years of ministerial experience and 43 baptisms to his credit, he has served five churches and is currently stationed at Malikipuram SDA Church.
