Jennifer Turk, a mother with a compassionate heart and a close friend of Lucas’ family, caught wind of Lucas’ wish and envisioned a way for Lucas to bless others. She knew that Lucas loves legos. Why not use that love to put Legos into the hands of orphaned children, many who have never held Legos before? And that is exactly what Jennifer worked towards.
Jennifer contacted William Hurtado, an International Children’s Care staff member, and both of them designed what is now called “Lucas Legos for Kids.” The plan would be to collect Legos in drop-off baskets or bags to be distributed to International Children’s Care children’s villages. Lucas and his family were excited after hearing this plan.
