As children return to school this fall, consider a simple way to help provide an education far into the future: Name ICC as a beneficiary of a retirement account, life insurance policy, or bank or brokerage account.
This option allows you to support ICC even if you have already created a will or trust and do not wish to revise it. A beneficiary designation can update part of your estate plan without costly or time-consuming changes.
Simply contact your financial institution or investment company and request a beneficiary-change form. You may name ICC as a primary, secondary, or tertiary (level 3) beneficiary.
You can also designate a percentage of the proceeds for ICC and one or more other beneficiaries. Or you might name a loved one as your primary beneficiary and ICC as your secondary beneficiary.
In that case, ICC would receive the proceeds only if the primary beneficiary could not. Beneficiary designations are generally easy to update as circumstances change, so you are not locked into your decision.
