YOU are having a tremendous and lasting impact on the lives of children at ICC’s El Oasis Children’s Village in Mexico. Because of your support, the children’s lives are filled with the loving relationships and nurturing care that they need to thrive. The children are safe and protected from the tragedies that made it necessary for them to find a refuge at El Oasis. And as you can see in this report covering activities during the past several months, the children are happy and are engaged in positive family, educational and spiritual activities.
Thank you for blessing the children through your love!
Volunteer Generosity
Tania and Elliot Tam served as volunteers at El Oasis for two years. This was a wonderful blessing for the children. Through the Tam’s generous kindness, the Oasis family enjoyed a wonderful day at a water park near Ensenada. According to El Oasis Director, Mauro Reyes, “We saw our children’s smiles as they slid down the water slides, played in the fountains, rode boats, and enjoyed the wave pool…We thank God for placing enough love in the hearts of our missionaries to share His blessings with our home.”

Adventurers and Pathfinders
El Oasis children enjoy very much the opportunity to participate in the Adventurer and Pathfinder club. The club activities enable the children to learn skills and engage in fun activities. And as funds allow, they are also able to experience camporees with children from many other clubs from around the region. In 2025, El Oasis Adventurers and Pathfinders were able to attend the camporee. Mauro Reyes explained the benefits as “an experience of fellowship, growth, and spiritual reflection. These events give meaning to the mission and provide children and teenagers with another reason to remain in the church.”
A special investiture ceremony took place on September 20. It marked the culmination of the year’s extensive efforts in the Adventurer and Pathfinder clubs. It was a blessing to see each child and teenager being recognized for achieving their goals.
Then not too long afterward, on November 22, the journey began again as El Oasis held their Pathfinder and Adventurer club opening ceremony. With it, new paths and adventures open up before the children and teenagers. There will be new opportunities to grow and develop skills for serving others; new opportunities to experience effort, perseverance, fellowship, and the strengthening of a Christ-centered identity.

Graduation
El Oasis children look forward to milestones and being recognized for their achievements. This includes school graduations, the most recent of which included four preschool, four elementary, and one middle school graduates. The success of these children is made possible through God’s blessings, the dedication of the teachers, the timely assistance of house parents, the hard work of the students, and the faithful support of ICC family members like you. Their success is not possible without you!
National and International Celebrations
The El Oasis staff provide opportunities for the children to celebrate being part of a global community. In Mexico, September 15 means the celebration of independence. The Oasis family gathered for a night filled with color, the aromas of Mexican food filling the air, and laughter as people participate in games that foster unity and strengthen their Mexican identity.
October 24 was a day of celebrating the international community. Thanks to the presentations from the different grades, the children learned about the cultures of El Salvador, Colombia, Honduras, and Brazil and discovered their fauna, flora, traditional clothing, and most importantly, their cuisine. At the end of the event, the Oasis family enjoyed a delicious meal that included different regional dishes.

Celebrating a Wedding
This report includes days of celebration and now a wedding. According to Mauro Reyes, “October 17th was a great day. ICC’s dream came true in our daughter Maribel Hernández, who grew up in this village, studied nursing, and upon graduating, God allowed her to fulfill her heart’s desire by finding in Sergio the partner God chose for her. Now they form a Christian family committed to serving others.
What a blessing it is for the ICC family to share in the joy of one of our children – who has overcome so much and has achieved so much – to start a family of her own. Thank you for the part you have played in making this dream come true!
